Happy February! Our window is filling up with purple hearts with “Random Acts of Kindness!” Please continue catching your child doing something nice for someone else.
- This week is a word wall review week. Please check out the Word Wall Page to practice reading and spelling them!
- Reading: Story elements. We are focusing on setting (where a story takes place). While we are reading, ask us where the setting is. Is it at a character’s house? It is outdoors? Remember, we are still working on stating the characters’ names, not just the pronouns.
- Math: We just finished our unit assessment. We have now began working on identifying 2D and 3D shapes. We even learned a new word: vertices!
- Science: This week we will be studying the moon! We will read books, draw pictures and discuss the different phases of the moon.
- Writing: We are working on adding details between our transition sentences!
- Art: We worked on texture and overlapping with our calendars! We will also have an art docent lesson this Thursday!
The class list for Valentine cards came home on Monday, as well as a new homework calendar!
Enjoy your week!
